The colors of turquoise can range from pale blue to purplish-blue to blue-green. Coral has been widely used by the Indian craftsmen as a pleasing counterpoint to the blue in turquoise. Onyx is a black shiny stone. - Malachite is a green mineral with alternating dark and light stripes. - Hematite is a stone with the appearance of quicksilver or mercury and is sometimes substituted for Mother of Pearl.
